Foley for Games & Films

In 2017, we went about exploring various ways of recording game foley to capture not only the subtleties of each sound using suitable mics and mic set ups, but to add depth or a spatial aspect to these recordings.

This project was headed up by sound designer Sam Huisman.

We experimented using a 5.0 mic set up created by Sam with foley artists Maartje Lourens and Lars Burgwal skilfully performing each foley sound.

At Studio Bart we continue to develop and perfect our recording techniques and always aim to find the best ways to create audio uniquely suited for each client or project.

Bart combines his vision, working methods, knowledge and creativity with the wishes of his client. Each project he works on is unique, and the combination of the client’s own vision and Bart’s creativity is a guarantee for excellent results, as he custom records every foley sound for you.

The studio of Bart has been built appropriately for foley recording. One of the unique aspects of Bart’s studio is it’s control in acoustics. By using sound absorbing panels, the space is sonically ‘drier’ as the studio has less reflections. The recording space is not a dark cramped recording room, but the voice actor or foley artist is able to work with Bart in the same room.

A wide array of foley props mixed with the creativity of Bart and his team results in endless possibilities for sound. There are many sessions of foley fun in the studio!
