Bart Jilesen
Owner
Bart started work in 1992, doing sound design and mixing with the collective Soundpalette. Soundpalette is a team of five composers and sound designers, each with their own specialisms and studios.
Bart is guiding the sound industry’s future as a teacher at the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU). He has sound design, audio postproduction techniques and the use of recording studios since 1994
In 2006 Bart set up his own business, ‘Studio Bart Jilesen’.
Since its foundation, there has been considerable growth, both in the business and in Bart’s portfolio and experience. Bart combines his vision, working methods, knowledge and creativity with the wishes of his client- this is the key to his success.
Bart has nearly 30 years (1992) of knowledge in mixing, 5.1 cinema, audiobooks and 360 audio. Bart’s sound design ideas are produced to a high-quality through his technical knowledge and use of equipment available at the studio.
The current focus of the studio is to expand the capabilities and the functionality of the studio equipment and software most recently making use of the Zylia ambisonic mic and experimenting with mixing using Dolby Atmos.
Importantly, Bart takes great pleasure in his work and enjoys a challenge. In their fifteen successful years in business, Bart and his team have delivered a large number of great products to many satisfied customers.

Rebecca Baatjes
Sound designer
Social Media Manager
Since January 2021 Bart has started a collaboration with Rebecca Baatjes. With her history in radio production and podcasting as well as being a classically trained pianist, and recently graduated Master of Music in Sound design at the HKU, Rebecca is now strengthening the team at the studio. If necessary for the project, Bart puts together a unique team of freelancers who work under his supervision to get the job done in the most efficient way yet aiming for the highest quality and best creative performance.
“At Studio Bart Jilesen I work with Bart, to improve the studio’s overall workflow as well as manage the social media accounts and studio newsletters.
We also focus on sound design, editing, foley recording, music recording, mixing and mastering for film and other media.
In terms of marketing, our goal is to broaden the reach of the studio. Focussing on brand authenticity and ways to improve brand awareness we implement the strategy through various social media channels as well as collaborative media platforms. I look forward to being part of the growth of this company.”
