By coincidence, Astrid, a visual artist, comes to live in the same polder house where her father used to live. She portrays her memories in the film Akkerland.

“My film is about the unconditional love between a father and his daughter. About heredity, losing your ‘childhood’ too soon, and about being an artist, the struggle with society and its expectations, and with that a piece of recognition when I look back on the life of my father and the similarities with my own life.”
